ISTC Pollution Prevention Process From Conception to Delivery
Speaker: Mike Springman, Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (ISTC)
Learn how the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (ISTC) staff at the University of Illinois, prepare for and conduct Pollution Prevention Assessments. This process will identify documents to request and key indicators to look for prior to conducting the site visit, what to dentify and areas to assess during the site assessment, report presentation, implementation assistance and capturing deliverables.

Mike is an Associate Engineer at the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center, performing
Pollution Prevention, Energy Efficiency and E3 (Economy, Energy and Environment)
Assessments. Mike is also Manager of Facilities Water Services that is comprised of Institutional Water Treatment and Water Efficiency and Conservation. Mike works from the Godfrey, IL Office of ISTC covering the Southern Illinois Area. Since 1997, he has focused on efficient use of natural resources and energy in industry, with additional experience in the application of membrane technologies, solvent substitution, alternative cleaning technologies and process efficiency. He is also an ISO 14000-2015 certified Lead Auditor. He has a BS degree in Environmental Biology from Eastern Illinois University. Prior to joining ISTC, he worked as a Project and Laboratory Manager for a private environmental consultant and as an Officer in the U.S. Army.
